Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based treatment provided by a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The process includes receiving an autism diagnosis from an Approved Autism Evaluation Center (AAEC) if required by insurance. A Support Coordinator may be needed based on insurance requirements. A doctor’s prescription is requested for collaboration. If concerns are present, a behavior assessment is conducted, and if the child qualifies, the team develops a treatment plan.
Speech Therapy (ST) and Occupational Therapy (OT) help children with and without underlying disorders.
The process includes obtaining a doctor’s prescription for evaluation and treatment. Our staff will review insurance details and schedule an assessment. After the evaluation, the team will determine if the child qualifies for treatment and develop a therapy plan.
Depending on the area of need, the specialist may request documentation (evaluation reports, treatment notes, plan of care, discharge, etc.) to facilitate a smooth transition or determine the next steps.
Therapy is one-on-one and tailored to the child’s age and needs. It is structured based on location, goals, and developmental targets, systematically helping the child progress.
The duration depends on the therapy type, the child’s needs, and the family’s schedule. ABA therapy typically lasts longer, averaging four hours a day, five days a week. ST, OT, and PT sessions generally range from 30 to 45 minutes, one to four times per week.
